Ronojoy Dutta

 

Ronojoy Dutta is the current president of Air Sahara and the ex-president of United Airlines, world's largest airline. He spent his early years in Shillong and then in Kolkata. He graduated from IIT-Kharagpur with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Before going to the USA to pursue an MBA from the Harvard School, Mr. Dutta worked briefly in India for Voltas.

 

After completing his masters in business administration, Mr. Dutta worked as an associate at Booz Allen & Hamilton and then as manager of planning for Bell & Howell. He joined United in 1985  and held a variety of managment positions in the company including vice president-Financial Planning and Analysis; vice president-Base Operations; and senior vice president-Maintenance Operations.

 

In 1999 Mr. Dutta was appointed  president of United airlines overseeing all aspects of United and was responsible for United's North America and International divisions, United's growing network of alliances and code-share agreements, Marketing, Onboard Services and Cargo. He remained in this position until 2002.

 

In 2004 Mr. Dutta became the president of Air Sahara.
